We are in need of volunteers to help staff our two toll-free national hotlines.
Volunteers on both hotlines provide telephone peer-counseling, local resources and factual information. We ask telephone volunteers to make a minimum commitment of six hours on the phones each month, for at least six months. We search for volunteers who are very good listeners, are very non-judgmental and who are comfortable talking with callers about difficult issues they are dealing with. We also have a great need for volunteers to help us in other ways besides answering the phones. The GLBT National Help Center needs administrative help, assistance with fundraising, public relations, information gathering and more. You do not need a professional background in any of these areas in order to help us. If you’d like to learn more about our many opportunities, please call our administrative office directly at 415-355-0003. This is the central number to call for both our New York and San Francisco office. Thank you very much for your interest!
